About Us


Realizing a life-long dream of owning his own business, John Lund started OFFWIRE, originally called Wireless Connection, in June 1995 in the basement of his Omaha home.

Wireless Connection grew steadily over the next year, and by May 1996 we had outgrown John’s basement. We moved into our own building—1100 square feet—and developed the OFFWIRE brand of accessories in September 1996. The wireless industry was booming, and Wireless Connection continued to grow, expanding twice in two years.

In March of 1998, the eCommerce site was launched. Wireless Connection was the first in the industry to offer this, and even today the eCommerce site remains a great tool to allow our clients to “never say no to their customers.”

Wireless Connection was awarded as one of the fastest-growing business in Omaha in both 2001 and 2002. As the familiarity with our OFFWIRE brand grew, we began calling the company OFFWIRE. By October of 2004 OFFWIRE had grown to have at least one customer in all 50 states.

In July of 2005, OFFWIRE developed the Celling Solutions program, focusing on creating partnerships with our clients and helping them to grow their business using training, promotions, and risk-free inventory. The following January OFFWIRE launched its Vendor Managed Inventory program, going beyond vendor fulfillment to include training, forecasting based on sales trends, and promotions—true Vendor Managed Inventory.

Building

OFFWIRE continued to grow over the next few years, and in January of 2008 the name change became official. At that same time we moved into our newly constructed building—30 times larger than our first building! Built around our training facility, this new building allows us more room to grow and helps us achieve the OFFWIRE goal of helping our clients maximize every customer touch.

MISSION STATEMENT - Provide solutions to make wireless retail easy and more profitable.

VISION STATEMENT - To have more locations averaging over 120 pieces/month than the largest US carrier has locations.

POSITIONING STATEMENT - OFFWIRE helps each client "Maximize Every Customer Touch" through Training, Promotion and Risk-Free Inventory.
